I should post more. We are working on finishing a closet we doubled in size while re-doing the bedroom. It has stood idle these long months, doing nothing but holding building supplies. Now, it has a cool new light, a new door, a coat of paint, and some new drywall. All it lacks is the final paint coat and a set of wire shelving. In other news, Schroeder is +95% potty trained. He has his good days and bad, but he is 100% big boy underwear at school and home. His allergies are making him feel bad right now, but he is a trooper. | | Sunday, January 11th, 2009 | | 8:20 pm |

Weather, 2nd day of cold
It was cold here again today. Cold as in I saw bushes with ice covering them where someone forgot to turn off the sprinklers. Nice day otherwise. Schroeder and I had another day of fun :-). He is helping me make Heather's present. We also watched Annie, went shopping, and went to the library. | | Monday, December 15th, 2008 | | 10:49 pm |
6 months? Wow,
Sorry y'all, just been lurking for a bit. I hadn't realized how long it had been since I posted. Summary time: - Family
- Big bed for Schroeder, no more rails
- Schroeder entered Moneissori school and is loving it
- Heather has started getting the 'working retail in the holiday' blues
- Work
- It was like a promotion, just not any more pay
- Application stable, almost able to have a real work/life balance
- Economy dumping, but my project picks up steam (and funding)
- Other
- Voted, I hope you did too
- I really like the new James Bond movies "gadgets? we don't need no stinkin' gadgets!"
- I participated in the Dallas Marathon again this year (I am not sure I will call it running until I break 5 hours)

Schroeder went to DayCare for the first time today. He was one of two new children in the class and the other one was bawling his eyes out. One of the other kids was sympathy crying, but Schroeder took it pretty well. After a few minutes holding my hand and looking around he noticed that no-one was harming the kids, they were just freaking out on their own. Then he was fine and began playing with all of the new (to him) toys in the room. He is going ot do awesome. I can't wait to talk to him about his day. :-) | | Friday, May 2nd, 2008 | | 1:30 pm |
code push today. loads of balky business partners who are asking questions like 'why does that i have a dot on top of it?' and 'when did you cross that T, why wasn't i informed?' and questioning whether we should push the product into production or not. GAAK! please save me from people who want to jump in the car and back seat drive for the last lap of a 1000 mile race. | | Monday, April 21st, 2008 | | 10:35 am |

angie baby so bob fm was playing songs from 1974 this morning on my way to work and the #1 song this date was angie baby by helen reddy and i just couldn't help but think that now would be a good time for someone to make it into a movie (i know neil g doesn't need new ideas, but i would seriously love to hear his twisted take on the story). ok, i know most of you reading this weren't born in 1974, but this was a big song and is twisted enough to be cool again. it is recognizable and retro, a good combination for marketing. anyway, thought i would share. if anyone wants to do a low budget, i will be glad to assist ;-) have a great day! home again, for as long as it lasts
my trips to austin texas are over and i have successfully interviewed with Dell twice. i liked both groups of people, and they seemed to like the skills i have. i believe austin would be a fun place to live and Dell would be a good place to work. there is even a marathon in austin, but it will be too late to be my first (i need one this year). i am still working at TransAmerica (through the end of next week) and trying to find positions (Columbus GA?) and packing up the mass of books and stuff we have to move. | | Friday, March 9th, 2007 | | 6:27 am |

me => 1/2 marathon, mississippi chad
hey all. i got up early this morning and went with bojolais to run in the Thunder Road 1/2 Marathon. it was 19 degrees, there was ice on the road, it was wonderful. i ran the 13.1 miles in 2:24:55. this was the longest run i had ever done by more than 5 miles.
hsmithmier's brother chad (not chud, but close) is flying in tonight to visit with us and the little mr. cry pants (better known as schroeder). we are going over to my pimp's ( Signature Consulting) tailgate party before the panther's game tomorrow and chad and his friend are going to see the game. | | Thursday, November 16th, 2006 | | 10:28 am |
schroeder, running, work
hello all. schroeder is over three weeks old now. it is odd, to both know that time has flown, but not be able to imagine what it was like before. we are now working on scheduling. i have been running a lot more than i did. i have run in a total of three 5Ks this year, and plan on doing a 1/2 marathon. i have not only run 6 miles (the most i have ever run at one time), i ran back to back 6 mile runs this past weekend. i believe i am going to do a 4 and an 8 this weekend. bojolais has been inspirational (he ran a 1/2 marathon for fun, out of the blue, the last 5K i ran in). my new job at TransAmerica is going well. i am less and less impressed by the frameworks they purchased for this project. the people are great, and the work schedule is flexible enough for me to get to run home and help with the baby. i have found that it is a little more than 1/4 mile between work and home (up hill to work, down hill back). ( route) i have been running the 1/4 and using the rest of the trip to cool down and catch my breath. yesterday i went to work at 9:00am and went home to help with schroeder at 12:00, 3:00, and 6:00. i ran 2 miles. :-) we didn't drive anywhere. | | Saturday, October 28th, 2006 | | 3:53 am |
